Boy Scout history began with the organization’s founding on February 8, 1910.  The Boy Scout’s first motto was “to teach [boys] patriotism, courage, self-reliance, and kindred values.”

Would you like to learn about Boy Scout history?  This organization trains youth to be self reliant and responsible citizens of upstanding character.  Today, the Boy Scouts of America is the largest youth organization in the U.S. and has had more than 110 million members since it’s founding.  If you are thinking about joining, or are already part of the Boy Scouts, you would probably like to learn more about Boy Scout history.
